Sooo...
I felt a little guilty (not only at the fact the clients may have been tempted to go and get us a relief package) but, the fact mattresses were on our veranda airing either side at the front entrance door to our home (& home business), along with old toys, boardgames & clothes that no longer fit that we were sorting for charity bins (hubby & I had painted our girls bedrooms & new carpet goes in tomorrow, so THEIR rooms look immaculate), books piled through the living room, dishes thrown in the sink from the night before (we'd had my brother & his family over & decided to leave cleaning up all until 'tomorrow') so along with all newly purchased school books & supplies over the dining table with contact for covering & labelling stickers ready for 'back to school' this week... well, and the laundry, which we haven't caught up with after the 6 weeks of rain & only 6 days of sunshine...
OK, In our defence, it was Sunday, 9.30am (YES, SUNDAY, 9.30AM & no phone warning so we could pretend we weren't here!) and, well, I guess crappola on a stick, we weren't expecting ANYONE... (now please excuse the word 'crappola' I don't know when it crept silently into my vocab, I think when I decided as a mother of 2 sweet girls I should never use 4 letter words)... Anyway, I guess one of the drawbacks about having a home office means you will never win home maker of the decade, but it also means you get to paint sometimes (& not just walls) in between calls from clients or if you get jobs done a little quicker than anticipated ; ) So, I finished my Imaginary Friends... but not the laundry ; )
and... I put off more domestic duties and posted in my Etsy shop ; )

These are adorable Shelle...I am so sorry about all of your bad weather...thank God you and your family are fine!
Weather is sunny and beautiful in Queensland again & had really nothing to do with our home being in disarray, that's just due to bad management and our natural state of chaos LOL! Pleased you liked 'Imaginary Friends' & thanks so much for your comment : ) I had fun doing them!
That really does sound like crazy freaking weather going on! I absolutely adore you artwork and I checked out your etsy shop! This made me smile http://www.etsy.com/listing/64944321/bunny-star-hugs-original-oil-painting
Thanks for peeking at my shop Shayla, I'm pleased you like the bunny star hug, the idea behind the little star huggers was to give who ever viewed them a virtual happy (armless) hug LOL, I'm really pleased too as they are being made into award stickers for school kids : )
By the way, I love your blog too & I'm now following, the Sunday Sketch thing you have going looks awesome!
Shelle, I love, love, love your imaginary friends. They are just adorable. Here we are waiting for Spring and it sounds like our weather has been the same, tons of rain and gray skies.
The imaginary friends are totally sweet! (Whispers)Sometimes I put off cleaning to do art, too! Glad you have had some sun to start drying out!
That was horrible, but too funny! Your art however, sweet and colorful. Hugs!
I love your blog Shelle!! It's like I'm talking to you on the phone! LOL! I think your house sounds terrific ;o) It sounds like our house! Which means its a home, not a house ;o) I'm glad the sun is out and I LOVE the new paintings!! I'm thinking!!! Take Care, Mate ;o)
Hey Shelle, your home sounds like mine! Constant chaos and disorder ... art all over in various stages, dining room table covered with paints, pencils, pens, kitchen looking like an assembly plant ... people always show up then!
When the house (on rare occasions) is clean and spotless, no one shows! After a few days of that, I convert back to random disorder and everyone shows up again! I figure people love my chaos and confusion otherwise they'd show up when the house is clean!
Take care and enjoy!
These look like the sweetest imaginary friends! I guess imaginary friends are always more fun than laundry :) You paint so beautifully, the colours are so bold and vivid and it certainly caught my eye straight away! Wonderful artwork you have here!
Oh Shelle, I think someone was just playing a cosmic joke on you. They picked the right moment in time to send those people over for a visit. Hey we can't have beautiful organized houses all the time. Don't worry about it, you'll get back on track one day and until then...oh well!
I love the artwork you created! So cute!
Thanks for the comments guys, it's funny (and strangly comforting LOL) how most of us seem to live in a little chaos & sometimes within an obstacle course almost, yet we can organise that small canvas space (sometimes just the size of an aceo card) where we can plan, follow through, finish, post online, giving us some control over that part of our universe while the rest is in a constant state of flux LOL...
Thanks for the kind words on my 'invisible friends' too, now if only THEY could do housework ; )
Ha ha! I can relate. Most of my clients don't know that our small business is quite *that* small (i.e. home-based) so I always arrange to meet them at a great local bakery/sandwich shop with wireless access. With a toddler and a newborn (you can guess how clean my house is) I wouldn't dream of meeting any clients here unless they cornered me (and it has happened once.)
My new toddler-friendly vocabulary includes: fiddlesticks, oh shoot, and phooey. =)
Love these little imaginary friends - too cute! Now to sneak in a post on your OWOH one if there's still time...thanks for visiting me earlier!
Best,
~Nikki

Your artwork is amazing and you are to funny. Thanks for visiting my blog and signing up for the OWOH drawins. You mentioned you thught you'd been to my blog, but didn't see your comment and wondered if you cursed. LOL, nope no cursing. I didn't find a comment lost in spam or anything so you must be imagining stoppin' in before. That's ok, I imagine a lot of things too. I'm just lucky no ones caught me yet and put me in a straight jacket. Thanks again for stopping by. Your comment is published.
