Just a quicko post for the hell of it (actually for heaven's sake would be more appropriate)... my Irish Colleen & Maureen were done in honour of St Patrick's Day... & my mum's birthday ;) My mother turns a very young 80 on the 17th March, as kids we always were given the day off at St Patricks Primary School Parramatta, my mum said we got to stay at home so she could spend the day celebrating with her favourite people, myself & my 4 siblings, she told us because she was so special, they closed the school so her wish could be granted... she was right, she's the most amazing woman I have ever met... but we figured out St Paddy's Feast Day also had a bit to do with the nun's decision to give us the day off ;)

What a terrific lady your Mum must be and 80, wow!
We almost share a birthday, I snuck in a day earlier.

I love these, They are adorable and would make great cards for the holiday.
Love them...the Hubs birthday is also St, Paddy's Day and yes he has red hair, Patrick is his middle name....My Mom was born on Three King's Day...
I love Colleen & Maureen! Such a sweet story about your Mom, too! :)
Happy Birthday to your mum!!! :0) Love these Irish girls especially the red head's gorgeous hair! :0)
Mum's energy leaves me in awe, my grandma also a wonderful powerhouse of energy & kindness - used to stand up for the 'old' people on the bus if they didn't have a seat... and that was right up to when she was in her mid-nineties ;)
Make sure you put on some green lippy & give that hubby of yours a big birthday kiss, & Felicity maybe a choc chip banana muffin could be on the cards for your B-Day if Lorna finds out? Thanks Marlene, that's a great idea, & Debbie mum is without a doubt one of the nicest people on earth but still knows how to have fun & kick up her heels ;) makes her fun to be around no matter what age... Thanks Nicola, I'm not a ranger but there's so many of us with a splash of Irish, & even if not, we can always enjoy an Irish coffee & belt out a tuneless version of Danny Boy ;)
Hey Shelle! Such a special post!! Happy early 80th Birthday to your mom! We will have to celebrate here for her ;o) Maybe send you some pics to show her ;o) And, bless your grandma! Mid-nineties, wow, I hope I get to 60! LOL! Love the paintings too ;o)
What a wonderful accomplishment to raise 5 children who adore you....and to celebrate 80 wonderful years of Life :)
Thanks Stacy, come on girl, 60 is just how you want to look when your 100 :) I'll say Happy Birthday to mummo from you, I'm heading down to Sydney for it, we're thinking high tea (never done it before) and of course a bubbly or two ;) Cameron, it's true, we adore her, and all her grandchildren do too, my daughter even wrote an essay for English about her, the subject was people you admire... most kids did historical figures or world leaders LOL, I think my daughter chose wisely ;)

Hi Shelle, I'm stopping in after the OWOH event, I didn't make it through the list, and you left the last comment, so I came a calling. Great blog and art! I popped over to Magic Love Crow blog because of your mention, she has fantastic art.
How cute is that! Joe and I always love March, because our anniversary is then, so is Joe's birthday, and also we celebrate St, Paddy's Day. You would love to celebrate it here.
Micki
That is so cool you went for a visit, I love Stacy's art too & she was one of the first people I met through Esty, her style is evolving & I always love to see what her next artwork is, some pieces are thoughtful, others dramatic, and OMG some just make me laugh they are so cute & funny!
Micki, OK, I will have to bring the family, better include my mum too... I'll meet you & Joe at the corner pub for a Guinness (or two), I'll wear my vintage (actually it's just old) Irish Rugby top & green eyeshadow... now, of course, it all depends on me winning the lottery before Paddy Day ;)
Happy Birthday to your mom. I bet it was always fun celebrating at home with her.
Wow your new art works are beautiful. And I love how you did the work in progress shots for us! Thanks!
