PAINT PARTY FRIDAY!

Almost forgot, I joined last week and loved visiting so happy I remembered (thanks Marlene, your post jogged me into action)!!
OK, My Hubby, Soul Surfer & avid Beachcomber handed me a piece of wood recently...  (no jokes please)... actually over Easter... the grain was worn & etched & the piece weathered, it was a treasure washed up by the ocean onto the sand at the bays, you had to be the right person to find this, others may have walked by never bending to scoop it up and absorb the beauty it possessed... I loved the driftwood and was not going to touch it... it sat on my desk,
Anyway...
I ended up painting this on in black ink... and gave it back to him... Good Friday.
Anyone who hasn't checked out the other PPF artists, can follow this link to drop in & see what they got up to this Friday ;)

Hello my Aussie friend,

Australia, Queensland must have wonderful beach!!!
Me and my hubby aren't spots type. Surfing must be fun. It is nice you could make use of his present from the beach, isn't it?
Have a wounferful weekend♫

Hi love the driftwood painting... lucky you living in Oz... I love it there... just don't get to go as much as I would like....

I am so happy you came to visit :) thank you for your kind words... you know my husband surfs each day but my daughters and I tend to either have a swim or dip if it's really hot but rather take a book & sit under the pandanus trees as we get easily burned, we do enjoy the beach but more for picnics :) I hope to go on a picnic tomorrow for Mother's Day, I love nothing better than just hanging out with the family and it doesn't have to be a fancy restaurant, I rather be spoilt with company rather than an expensive meal, so a sandwich & (maybe a wine LOL) down at the bays in the shade with my hubby & daughters would be ideal, sometimes I take a sketch book with me too, it's wonderful :) Have a great weekend my friend (or as we say it Australia) Ava great weekend mate!! ;)

Thank you too Catherine, you sound like you live in a wonderful part of the world too... Orchid is my friend from Japan, you in France & me here on the Sunshine Coast in Australia, and it blows me away that here we are sharing ;) too cool! Where did you go in Oz Catherine? It changes constantly, I'm originally from Sydney & each time I go back to visit family there's a new highway gone in!! Take care & have a great weekend!

love the organic texture of the wood enhance by your ink work, simply beautiful, and so nice that it waited so long to appear, both on the beach then on your desk, we hanker for the sea dn live slap bang in the middle of England so no hope of 'nipping' to the beach...but later inteh year I'll post some of the views form the Dark Peaks and that's our compensation, anyhow He's too old to surf now ( don't tell him I told you that - he WIll Not part with the boards and our wet suits.

What a beautiful creative way to work on the piece of driftwood. I sometimes bring driftwood from the beach (Northern California) or I just take pictures of those that really strike me. I like their weathered texture.

I love combing for treasures on the beach far more than actually going in the water! I'd probably be sitting under the trees with you, eating a sandwich and sketching :)

She is so sad, you have succeeded in conveying a gentle longing in her that begs for change.....
