BIRDS...

BIRDS... flashbacks of Alfred Hitchcock swarmed in my head after TWO unexpected Birds appeared at my door this week, OK, not quite as many as the classic movie, but my dog was shaking (he's a bit of a wimp)... Anyway, both delighted me (totally) so I'm going to share... Not sure what this little baby is, but I think it's a wattle bird, so it's not as exotic as the rainbow parrots that munch on the wattle & grevilleas around our home, but it's voice, like a melodic incantation, I was seduced by it's charm, this sweetie was caught out (or should I say in) when it thought it could take a short cut through the living room, it was a little anxious after hitting the glass, an invisible barrier it was totally puzzled by, so I opened all doors & left it, enjoying it's company...
Hubby came in from his dawn surf & with the aid of his beach towel this bird was gently ushered out of our home & after a little sit to recover from the adventure, flew back into the nearby bush...

The other bird appeared with no warning and has made a permanent home in our abode, amongst the treasured items he sits, he is black and he sits watching over his Princess & other treasures collected from life, photos, snow domes, artworks, macaroni necklaces, unique gifts and precious objects you will never find in museums, or with price tags of any value, because these things aren't measured in dollars, nothing of worth is...

This bird came to my door, it was a messenger bird, it came to tell me that a friend is a treasure... Stacy from MagicLoveCrow delighted me with a generous gift, I have greatly admired this painting for sometime... since I first laid eyes on it actually... I am now totally thrilled & deeply touched that I now get the opportunity to enjoy this bird, 'The Princess & the Crow' in my home... Everyday :) Please check out Stacy's awesome work, it's magic :)

Ooh la la a new birdie friend.
I think he must have been on winter vacay because I haven't seen one around here before.

I'll be intrigued to find out what he is if one your readers enlightens you.

Happy Day Sunny You!

I spied with my eye Stacy's amazing painting which has flown into life to make it's home amongst your treasures. You have a gorgeous collection of art & treasures there. You are so right that nothing of value is ever measured in dollars!

Jenny so right, they are both gorgeous, I would have kept both but I feel only one is suited to life indoors & the other had a nest & family waiting elsewhere ;)
Felicity, yes I am totally perplexed to what the little fella is, we are blessed with the birdlife that makes their homes in the community, a constant source of joy :)
Stacy, WHAT'S DUSTING?? LOL Oh about once ever 6 months or so I pull out an old T-shirt or wipe things off on my jeans LOL...
Ann, I have amazing treasures, my Grandad's dice in an empty Old Spice container, my grandma's rosary beads, a champagne cork, an (empty) tequila bottle we drank in Mexico, all my things are special because of who they were from or given to me by, or memories I can instantly recall because of them, each is a diamond in it's own right :)
Jamie, I thought if he did drop anything on my artwork it would be nothing a little water & cloth wouldn't fix (as long as it missed my pastels LOL), I loved the fact the art desk was a little oasis for him to relax & have a drink, many years ago I had a cockatiel who would sit on my shoulder or on my desk lamp all day & of a night he'd go back into his cage for dinner & a nap :)
Laurie, thanks so much, I love taking photos, and it was a lovely early morning light, and I'm pleased to share my gift, Stacy certainly is an amazing talent :)
Anne, ahh a fellow bird lover, and THREE budgies vying for your attention LOL, are they blue or the green yellows(?) not that it matters I love budgies they are so sweet & have great personalities, you keep spoiling them ;)
Artistamyjo thanks for calling by, he was the most sweetest visitor & easy to entertain LOL of course I told him he's welcome back anytime :)
Magaly isn't it great to have 'feel-good' artwork that becomes part of your everyday life :) The 'It' girl was Frasers first driftwood sculpture & he said I was his muse, he gave it to me, it's named 'IT GIRL' the other is Icarus. I love them :) (PS My boobs aren't quite that low LOL)
Debbie, you spotted correctly!! I can't believe that in this enlightened age people put their faith in worth being a dollar value... I know we all have to earn some bucks to pay our bills but I have never seen money bring true love... I've seen it buy companionship, that's sorta empty though ;) So pleased you liked my collection & thanks for your comments my sweet dudettes :)

Oh my goodness! You haven't lived until you've had a live bird in your house. ;-) Early in our marriage we moved into a little house that had a wood stove with a flue through the roof. Hubby was working out of town and I was in late from work one day and didn't return until after dark. I unlocked the door and when I stepped inside this very frightened bird flew into and bounced of my head! Honey, it startled me so much I could have sworn it was an entire flock and I was truly living that movie. It took me most of the night to get it out and then the ungracious guest had the nerve to leave his calling card all over my favorite plant. lol

Oh how lucky of you to have received such a beautiful gift from Stacy. I ADORE Stacy and her crow images fill me with such joy. Your treasured items are priceless! Have a wonderful week, my friend.

Your boob comment made me laugh so hard that I nearly dropped my laptop!

Mina love the story, especially your visitor leaving it's calling card LOL... I've just been taking photos from our living/dining/tv/rumpus/family/homework room (it's just the one room LOL) of Kookaburras outside on the tree that are eating the insects caught in the spider's webs around our roof gutters, man, gotta love them, they work with the geckos keeping the flies & cockroaches at bay...
Stacy... true story, sometimes he's such a sweetie (for a bloke LOL) ;)
True I don't wear sport's bras Magaly, but then I don't move that fast either, so the boobs have stayed... well perky is a distant memory but sorta above waist level ;) be careful with your laptop LOL!!

Sunshineshelle said...

Thanks Deb, it's true they are awesome to have in your house but real & painted birds ;)
Jo Ann thanks for dropping by, the painting was better than backing a winner at the races & lasts longer too ;)
Also,
Just to clear it up, I do wear a bra, otherwise gravity is a bitch (well not in the shower LOL) but just not a sports bra, they are build for speed not comfort & I only go fast if I'm in a car ;)

Late reply, but all this happened when I was away at retreat... Not cool at all.

Ha Ha snuck in a post when you weren't looking Memphis, & so happy you have started a blog ;) Laurie, went back for a better look, I'm a duffer, I see it now :) Christine pleased you dropped by, yes the permanent bird is definitely easier to look after LOL, Ras perfect position I look at it every day & Stacy's crow seems very happy with his new home! Martha I think if you look hard enough one of your mermaids is in the pic too!! Bit too much reflection but bet you can see it ;)
