Yes folks it's PAINT PARTY FRIDAY!

Milo our Wonderdag (sorry dog) went missing Wednesday, I was volunteering at my girls school rolling sushi & cooking muffins & topping vegetarian pizzas... It was a morning like any other, scramble for showers, lost hairbrushes, black coffee, juices, last minute sock search, Big F (hubby & regular toast burner) had the morning off as it was QCS Day 1 (that's like TOTALLY MAJOR EXAM DAY for year 12 High School in Queensland Australia) that's the day you do exams & it goes to Government Education headquarters (or somewhere equally as corporate) & answers are crunched through some major humongous computer which shakes & steams & spits out on a tiny piece of retro computer paper what Uni place you are offered (or not)... it takes until the end of the year to find out if you get the chance to mingle with other Uni dudes & use their Ultra Cool (yep it is we went to Uni open day) mega library. As a matter of fact the library was only part of the fun that day, the science labs, woo, last time I was in a lab I remember holding my lunch contents at the back of my throat while we cut up a dead rat, I didn't hold them for long & the fall from grace in my teachers eyes was immediate as my semi chewed sausage roll hit the floor.

Yuk.

Oh yeah... that's right, at the Uni we looked in microscopes & they had environmental warriors & we sat gripping our hovercraft while the gorgeously excited geeks swung us around the lab, helped with experiments, learnt a couple of Japanese words, checked out the creative illustrators & writers & their published books, drooled over the photograph, arts & media departments... (I can't remember learning being this much fun) Memphis was pretty impressed too...
and...
hang on,
yes the dog...
Milo ran away, he HATES lightning, it spooks him, and it was Wed, & the next morning was Day 2 of the TOTALLY HUGE QCS exams... we got home from school & instead of afternoon tea for the girls & a relaxed review of study notes to prepare for exams, we spent from 3 in the afternoon until after dark calling out Milo's name (& 'Cheese' he always comes for that) , driving the streets, checking the gutters, walking along the beach & through the bush... the girls & I were distraught, the Big F, well he couldn't hold his head up blame free, guilt had settled for the night firmly on his shoulders. Phone calls (& visits) to vets, pounds, council all ended in an uneasy night, the next day bought sunshine and new hope...

After dropping the girls at school & sitting outside the dog pound for it to open I got a call from hubby... Milo was at the vets & OK. I left word at the school to get a message to girls, texted all who were concerned or offered to help search, and cried I was so happy.

A gorgeous woman named Tara & her toddlers had seen him running down the white line in middle of the main street, realised Milo was in trouble & followed in their car, finally approached him at the skate park, it was still stormy, they took him home, gave him shelter, food & she let him sleep beside her bed... they were so kind, Tara & her sweeties after they brushed him took him next morning to the vet to see if anyone was missing him :) to say we were is a huge understatement & he sit's now beneath my feet while I type & finally come to... why I started this post...

PAINT PARTY FRIDAY... & you thought I forgot ;)

I'm thinking Halloween, but in various guises...
The first is based on one of my imaginary friends dreaming he's trick or treating with his idol - 'Frankie & Me' and with it in the pic the ethereal 'Spirit', a ghost that does not know she has passed and has come to say hello...
They are aceos as are the next... I think I am finished these... mmm I'll wait a bit longer though... here are 2 spirits in 'Haunting' 1 & 2 they have no eyes, can not see you, but on nights when the moon is full you may see them... sssssh...
OK now it's PARTLY done & hope to finish on the weekend, my sweet little witch babes with toad & cat are my works in progress.
So that's it! Thanks for dropping by, it's the first day of Spring here and I hope you have a wonderful weekend, I look forward to checking out what you've been up to on Paint Party Friday hosted by the talented & bubbly duo EVA  & Kristin & remember (as I love to say) - hug the ones you love ;)

Exhaling HUGE sigh of relief that Milo made his way home safe and sound after what can only be described as a true canine adventure.

Thank goodness for kind hearted and quick witted people who understand the importance of keeping someone's precious furry family member safe.

The weekend is before us, QCS is behind us [well some of us anyway] and spring is all around = fist pumping high jumps are definitely the order of the day!

Hugest of happy hugs,

xx Felicity

'Major' is an understatement Mum. Imagine it more like holding onto a side of a cliff, you have no idea if you are going to survive it, or crash and burn (all depending on the stimulus of course). And Milo disappearing act was not helping! I'm sure I've told you this to your face... But nice artwork! =^.^=

So glad your dog is back where he belongs. Ours get away about once a year, and it's terrifying.

All your Halloween themed work is wonderfully creepy (except for the cute stuff, which is adorable).

oh my god. the dog.
i HATEd the part where you had to wait the night. Those are the scariest worst nights EVEr.
hey. i call 'cheese' to get my dog too - but also 'weenie' because he LOVES hot dogs (but i say hot dogs all of the time even thought they are Not hot dogs until they are cooked - they are Weenies. but for chibi i call them weenies Even after they are cooked so that he knows it's for him)
i want to know what 'aceos' means. it seems like a super complex word. also i freakin LOVE those eyeless spooks. Dammit. Send me one.

beats me what else i came here to say.

i just like your blog and very well may keep typing for a bit.

What a fabulous post - I am so relieved that Milo was found safe and well - what a wonderfully kind soul Tara was for taking him in. I'm sure you must've been beside yourself having to wait overnight to find out he was safe.
As for your art work - wow - I missed you at PPF - haven't seen you for a while. Your imaginary friend dude is as cute as ever - how sweet that he's trick or treating with Frankie! Your ghostly girls are super chilly but really wonderful and your little witches are just adorable as always!

Sooo happy about Milo's good fortune!
Absolutely in artsy lust with your spirits. I WANT them! And the witches are pulling me too, but the ghosts have such a hold on me that I can hardly look away. Wow! I can't wait for All Hallow's Eve!

The kindness of strangers...what a beautiful ending to a scary story. And your art...your purple friend is wonderful. Impossible not to grin when I look at him. But those two spirits are amazing - spooky and haunting and beautifully done.

Oh Shelle, I am so happy that you found your beloved Milo. When one of our furry loves goes missing it can be terrifying. Australia, at least where you live, sounds like such a friendly community, where people truly look out for one another. I would love to visit there sometime.

I ADORE all of your paintings. Your ghosts look hauntingly beautiful and your imaginary friend with Frank is adorable.

The two spirits are delightfully creeeeeeepy. I love the little witches and their little familiars. I am always so proud of the ACEO I won from you. It sits out in my office making me smile. Have a beautiful week, my sweet friend. Give Milo a super huge hug!

So glad your dog Milo made it home... I have a cat named Diego who thinks he's a dog and I know I'd be crying if anything ever happened to him. I've had him for 9 years (since he was 5 weeks old). So fortunate to know that there's honest loving people who will take care of a pet in need.

As for your ACEOs I love the baby witches with toad and cat... super cute! It's the end of summer here in the states but everywhere you go there are reminders that Halloween is just a month and several weeks away;-) I LOVE THE CANDY!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and the birthday shout-out!

Have a great Thursday;-)
(hugs and smiles)
