An Inspired Splash of 'Scarlett' for PPF!

I looked outside and asked Trinity what day it was... "Wednesday" she called from the bedroom... 'no... no' I said staring into an eerie landscape... 'I mean on the Mayan Calendar'...
It was 7am, the sun that had been hanging in the bright blue morning sky had been blaring through out curtainless windows since before 5am, but now it was semi-dark, the birds weren't chirping and the ocean seemed still...
Next minute my 15 year old Trinity raced out wearing an old pair of 3-D glasses "There's an Eclipse" she said as she raced to the window...
Mmmm... yep, of course I YELLED... DON'T LOOK AT THE SUN!!!! As a matter of fact people within a 10 mile radius probably heard the warning... so here is my COLOUR pic, can you believe it, the sky/ocean all zapped of any colour, the photo I took aiming directly at the sun, ended up a massive lens glare that highlighted our flithy windows... as you can imagine, I would like to keep my reputation as a domestic goddess, so I will NOT be posting that one ;)

Memphis my darling18 year old (did I say darling for Trin? She picks up on those things) is in chilly Scotland at the moment spending time with some of her wonderful extended family before she starts University in the new year... I miss her so much and we Skype most days, on a recent virtual hook up she told me as well as journalling she was going to start to blog a short story every day (or thereabouts) using 'prompts' pulling out a 'name' from one hat & a 'word' from another... when we were chatting she asked me what I thought of a short tale she posted last week called Scarlett and how did I picture her? I loved the quirky story and then I realised I hadn't anything for Paint Party Friday for so long, I took the challenge to accomplish both tasks... so MangaMem I introduce you to Scarlett, my PPF post :)

I took some photos as I progressed...

I hope you enjoy & if you get the time please read the story "Seasons-Scarlett" that inspired this painting :) Thanks for dropping by and a big thanks once again to the lovely Eva & Kristin for being a lot more diligent than I could ever be running this AWESOME Party each week!

Oh! One more thing... The 6 people that commented on my last party post were thrown to Mr Randomiser & MagicLoveCrow, you are the winner of the $15 voucher for my Etsy Shop! Congratulations!! Now get over there & buy something ;)

Have a great weekend all!

Wow, I first have to ask this: is that a view out of your window!? Imagine living there, wow! You're so lucky to wake up to this every morning! It's eerie though, with the eclipse.... Your painting is just beautiful! Love seeing the in-progress-pics!

She's great! Such a mesmerizing gaze. I have to go read the story.

The eclipse photo is amazing. The last one that happened here I watched from a downtown parking lot, so everything already looked gray.

The picture from the eclipse is amazing. Thank you for sharing it! And that lady - sooo intense. Don't know what the strikes to her left are - but something about her intensity makes me think of lovers she's knocked off! She reminds me of Bonnie in Bonnie & CLyde! Happy PPF!

Scarlet looks awesome! I love your photo of the blue-less ocean during the eclipse. I experienced a total eclipse back in 1999 in Germany and it was raining! However, it was still fantastic.

What a lovely pic. Almost black and white, but so full of life. Love it, love it. Not as much as Memphis’ one-story a day idea, what a brave girl! I’m jealous. And I will be there reading. I love your Scarlett ;-)

P.S. Damn! I miss the last post *sigh*
