All Hallow's Grim... 2013 So Dark, & So (awesomely) Good (like totally).

Ssh, Come closer, yes you, I want to share something with you... it's fabby-doo-daa as they say it the classics, it's a 'must attend' event on the blog party scene... WHY??
(whoops sorry for yelling when you were so close) 'Why?' (Inside voice) this party is chocka-block full of astounding people, artists, writers, thinkers all sharing their talent and the most amazing giveaways (all rules/info is HERE) it's hosted by Ms Wicked herself, Magaly a shining light in the otherworld of 'dark' 'good' (actually, so good it's awesome) fiction.

It's All Hallow's Grim 2013 "So Dark, So Good" & this is my first post for it... I seemed to have a lot of 'Eureka' visual ideas only for them to be abandoned like my early career ambition of being a dolphin trainer (because, well, I'm a pretty hopeless swimmer and get sunburnt easily, even though after watching hours of 'Flipper' as a child I felt I was pretty qualified anyway)... but I digress... & really didn't want to miss Day 1 of Partytime (October 13th) without posting, so here we go... nick of time... (well somewhere in the world)

Good/bad, darkness & light, I believe are a marriage of opposites but exist working in a timeshare of dominance… They exist not only physically like that but emotionally as well... As a child I loved nothing better than sitting on the floor with my siblings around the glow of the tele in the lounge room of our darkened home on a Friday night, terrified as we watched whatever B grade movie the 'Creature Feature' timeslot was showing, so dark, so good. Dad repeatedly telling my sister & I tucked in our beds the frightening bedtime story (my favourite request) of the 'Ghost at the Window', and the ritual always included the harrowing dare of pulling back the bedroom curtain to see if the ghost was standing, listening, searching for a way in... So Dark, So Good...

I started a piece of artwork, thinking thinking 'ghosts' but soon my muse showed pushed me an 'angel' (may indeed be one & the same?). Angels, these bright shining creatures that can be thrown from the heavens for some dark deed... She seems to be trying to fathom what went wrong, after all she had light on her side.

Oh & heads up, along with a bounty of treasures, there is an peice of my art as one of giveaways at Magaly's, so go on, please join the fun
All Hallow’s Grim 2013… So Good, So Dark Party
Thanks for visiting, and remember... PARTY ON DUDES ;)

Oh my! Yes, a fallen angel, mutilated by the loss of her wings. Thank you so much for the WIP shots. I love watching the creative process and seeing how ideas develop and unfold. I like her pose and the flat gold eyes. They remind me of Natasha Moran's wicked dolls.

Ohh, that is a great comment & I take it as a wonderful compliment because I LOVE Natasha's work (& YOUR dolls too BTW)... :)

I see your "angel" as crying in anticipation....not the culmination. She's not finished yet.....betcha. But then I am an olde broad with a crookedy point of view. Love what you created and your enthusiasm for our dear wickedy Magaly's fun time All Hallow's Grim. I posted by tale today, hope you'll go and check it out at http://lindaomasoldebaggsnstuftshirts.blogspot.com/2013/10/so-goodso-dark-entry.html

Nice Mum! Although you already knew that! Gotta say, the title made me think she should be holding her hands to her face...

Aren't Natasha's dolls wonderful? And her doll clothes, so meticulous! I'm a huge fan!

Thank you for the sweet comment about my dolls. That made me very happy. :)

I love the weeping angel. So sad and alien. It really draws the eye to the smallest detail. Wonderful.

You, my adored Shelle, would make a perfect dolphin trainer. They would carry you on their backs just so they could enjoy the song of your colors and the scent of your words.

Your dad sounds like an amazing man. If we had known each other way back then, I would have probably begged to come for sleepovers.

The sight of your "Weeping Angel" tightened my chest... such haunting beauty.

I've said it before...and I will keep saying it...your pieces are so hauntingly beautiful they make me envious of your talent and vision. *drools over weeping angel like a zombie at a bar-b-cue* :D XXX

I adore your Weeping Angel! It's funny because to me, it looks as though something or someone has interrupted her tears and has come (hopefully) to offer her help or comfort. :)

Dearest Sunshineshelle,
Oh, Weeping Angel! She lost her wing and mutilated... So sad but her gold eyes expresses something powerful (even if with her tears), aren't they☆☆☆

ps. I LOVE your precious Memphis's visit, my friend♡♡♡ Wish she will be able to have a chance to come visit Japan someday.

Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*

Never give up on your dreams. Maybe there is a way you can be the person who trains dolphins OUT of water or at night.

Oh how devastating to lose ones wings! She will never be free again...she is Earth bound.
