Those are the words of my wicked friend and constant source of all things inspirational, Magaly, a word genius that creates a platform from where I can plunge into a sea of interconnected artistic visions, where fantasy, concept and brushwork touch... the post reminded me immediately of a collaboration with my long time soul mate and source of divine love and constant frustration and irritation, a love that is of polar opposites but something somehow when together all the broken bits seem to fit, fastened with invisible thread, and makes us one...
I want to share a few on the pieces of artwork I recently did (and intend to do more) the canvases were previously a ship, then wreckage, her broken pieces cast to the shore, and collected by my beachcomber, Big F, over 3 days on 1 glorious long stretch of beach. He asked if I thought the pieces could be resurrected, given new life, as canvases, and her scars suggested the images that are below, but she remained, glued, damaged... a glorious survivor.

Perfect, simply perfect! A profound commentary. I love each piece!
I add my voice to Debra on the profound commentary bit. Oh, the things we would be able to delight in, the people we would be able to celebrate, if we could just take a moment to appreciate what's already there.
There is so much going on in their expressions, in the way their bodies twist into shapes we can see ourselves in.
Also, I love seeing the product of you and Big F working together.
I truly love each piece Shelle! Big Hugs!
Oh wow - their expressions and postures (especially on the third) doesn't sugarcoat any of the pain or hurt, but they also say so much about resilience.
Just incredible. Beautiful.
Lovely blog, thanks for taking the time to share this
