OK... Who the hell put a spell on me???

OK... WHO IS IT?? I know someone has been up to no good, because everything mechanical (thank God I haven't a pacemaker) has friggin' refused to work this week... alright, to be honest it may have started when I drove over our phone (receiver)... long story short, actually let's leave it at the really short, you leave a phone receiver on a driveway, and it comes into a close encounter of the 4 wheel drive kind, it's more than likely to come out of the ordeal damaged, and in more than 1 piece, lesson learned!
Maybe that wasn't a spell, maybe that was just stupidity,
BUT THEN...
My computer finally gave up the ghost, after weeks of starting it with a hairdryer (yep another long story short) we have had mega moisture (aka rain) over the last few months on top of summer heat, very tropical, so air can be heavy, humid, and seeps into the vents & motherboard in the computer, which is easily solved with a hairdryer, blowing warm air into the computer vents at the base of the Mac... that is until you fry the motherboard (I thought the 'heat' setting would work quicker than 'warm')...  THEN Fraser (hubby, soul mate & writer of the previous Witch V Bitch blog posted story) realised his hard drive holding around the last 5 years of brochure work done for various clients was DEAD... RIP another piece of electrical equipment... we were not content to bury this little device without trying a little resuscitation on our plugin pal, so we spent $120 for a 'specialist' to tell us we needed to spend $1000 with someone else to retrieve data... and he would only send our hard drive back AFTER payment cleared... is it just me or didn't people have to 'do' a job to be paid in the past (?) I wish I could 'look' at a job & charge 120 bucks...
OK, moving on, Speakers on the IPOD - FRAGGED (and no I did not drop, pour OJ on OR run over them with the car backing out the driveway)... DVD player STUFFED we are now watching movies on my daughters school laptop...
Sounds like I'm whinging... well to who ever shorted my electricals (did I mention the clothes dryer?) I have news for you... it's OK, really, we still can hang the washing on the line, nature can handle this job with her other chores ;) I am renting (& drooling over) my new Imac, the hard drive we replaced - 5 times the size & a fifth of what we paid 5 years ago for inferior crappola (rest it's soul)... so, hey if the spell was to aggrieve, didn't work ;) the phone, well we have one not held together with gaffer tape any more & I have an extension next to my art desk so I don't have throw art equipment to the side & fall over the dog sprinting to the home office for a work call & answering breathier than Marilyn Monroe sighting JFK at a B-Day function... so all's good, & watching the 'Summer Heights High' DVD on a laptop instead of TV last night proved a sweet affair, we pulled out a mattress in Trinity's bedroom & Memphis got soft drinks, nibbles & the Big F & I a wine and we chuckled through 4 episodes before deciding we would call it a night... and the Ipod speakers... hey we still have earplugs to listen & we can just sing, plus, we have something to add to someone's next birthday list :) so all in all, I'm not whinging, I'm saying 'thank you'... but you better not try anything on our coffee machine... you wouldn't like me if I don't get my morning brew!!!

OK Prize 2, What about the last one you may ask (or not) well, May 1st, that winner will be announced along with this & the next prize winner, so anyone that hasn't left a comment still gets a chance to leave one up until April 30th on all 3 'Witches in Fiction' Celebration posts...
This next is still under completion BUT I will have 3 (4 if finished) 'Witch' inspired mixed media creations in my Etsy Shop on May 1 and the winner of this post will get to pick whichever one they want, & if they don't I will have to use some magic & make them ;)
So please leave a comment for an automatic entry to win one of these... too easy :)
Don't forget to check out the other magic & giveaways happening at Magaly's Pagan Culture Blogspot too!

Wow, what a crappy week... try getting a "technical stuff gnome" (or any other kind of spirit). Since we invited one into our home, things have been much better... he's watching over the ancient washing machine, several crappy computers and basically everything else involving electricity, and ever since I started leaving him a bit of food and/or milk in the storage room now and then, nothing has happened...

Jenxo indeed they do & Shh, Diandra I know the washing machine is thinking about striking too, LOL Thanks for the comments babes & count yourselves in for the draw :)

Okay the washing machine too?! That's not cool, you need a good spring cleansing or some heave upgrades, my luv.

Shelle, this new giveaway possibilities are amazing! I showed them to my Piano Man (after I stopped squealing). I'm so excited and Pagan Culture's head has grown about 3 sizes bigger lol

My mum says I should help put the washing machine out of its misery LOL, it hasn't been able to do a full cycle without human intervention for a year now but we tend not to replace unless really needed, so for now... ;)
Magaly so pleased you like my messy attempts at mixed media, I found some old wizard shots from a 1950's ballet book (hence the over dramatisation) It's Bruce Dern from an old horror movie in a moon & of course you may recognise Shelley Duvall from 'The Shining' I have one more 'half' done and I have to finish them all with a ribbon or something to hang as I didn't realise the little boards I used had slits at the top & bottom until after I got them home!
I forgot to say in my post, Happy Easter to all :)

I have a bit of 'catch up' lucky it's a long weekend here... we have a national holiday for ANZAC Day today... to commemorate all the men & women who fought for our country, to remember lives lost & sacrifices made. We make Anzac biscuits to eat & celebrate with dawn services & you can play '2-up' & not be arrested for illegal gambling ;)...
Now back to the blog... (man I get off track sometimes) Stacy I'm pleased you have commented because you know that means.... your name is in the hat too... ha ha I just had a vision of all of us squealing together, like teens at a Justin Bieber concert... oh that's a bit of a worry LOL

HiShelle, i love your cute witches and things - i would love to win one of these mixed media. I'm still busy doing a couple of on-line workshops with Sharon Tomlinson and another one with Suzi Blu, both very different and both very good - hope you and your family had a great easter. PS be careful with all the electrical stuff! Joyce

I hope things have taken a turn for the better Shelle! I think the machines all gang up on a poor human sometimes. It's a conspiracy! I had to laugh at starting your computer with a hairdryer...that just seems too silly!

Sunshineshelle said...

Joyce I think as long as we can boil water for a cuppa tea & the coffee machine keeps grinding those beans we can handle it... goodness knows just imagine BEFORE washing machines, irons (not that I use that much) & all the other 'essentials' we use every day how much time things took to do... carrier pigeon anyone ;)
Christine amazingly I am more in love with my new long lease Imac than I was with the last, it's like a honeymoon (don't let my hubby know) yes it's true, the hairdryer has given great service, gone way beyond the call of duty LOL!! Good Luck to you both in the Draw :)

Your great sense of humor has gotten you through, and you have reorganized and are enjoying some nice new work stations. I envy you that you don't have to run to the phone anymore, lol! I love your little witch with her head tilted to the side, pressing her cheek against her familiar's cute lil head. I have two black kitty girls, Angel (the Ninja) and Venus (the Goddess of Love)
Happy Day to You!! Kathryn

Sunshineshelle said...

Thanks Kathryn, that's my daughter Trinity's fave too, I keep changing my mind, I'm putting some hanging ribbon & beads on today, so I'll try to post updated pics when finished... a Ninja cat LOL & I bet Venus loves cuddles? Maybe my phone should be further away, that was my daily exercise ;) Good Luck in the draw :)

Thanks for the comment on my blog. Seems like when electronics go they like to all go together. My boyfriend just had his Mac in to get fixed. After paying almost $200 they realized it was just the software and erased everything and reinstalled for free. The computer is four years old so that's not too bad but he had to take it in twice cause it didn't work after the first repair.

Any who great blog and nice art work!

Shelly

Hey Shelly pleased you dropped on by, your name is in the witches hat for the draw ;) Did your boyfriend lose any of his work?? Actually changing computers is a drag if you are as unorganised as me, at the moment I'm looking for serial numbers & CD's to reinstall/authorise my software... UGGH!!

Ugh. Technology and the retrograde. Bad combo. Worse than my hair and humidity.

Am I still in time for the gimme gimme?

I don't even know what day it is!
