Mad Tea Party... Come on, just a quick cuppa & you can be on your way!!

OK, First I apologise, I've been flat chat running around like a headless chook, 2 weeks of intense work with deadlines of 'Needed Yesterday', and tonight what I really need is "a cup of tea, a Bex and a good lie-down" which in Aussie speak is... to chill out. BUT... I want to party...

OK, here in Australia, 'Tea' is also supper, supper is also dinner, a mum (say me) yelling "TEA'S OUT" mean's dinner is ready and family members should assemble at the bench and take their plates laden with whatever I've found in the fridge that wasn't was limp or mouldy across to the TV... when asked 'What's for Tea?' by my ever hopeful babes, I often call the one pot wonders I've chucked together something exotic to make it (seem) more attractive....

BUT...

A 'MAD TEA PARTY' though is more than just wearing a party hat & sitting in front of the tele watching a repeat of 'Family Guy' while making sure the dog doesn't knock over your wine, it's actually a virtual event that is shared by amazing people all over the globe, people who plan & organise, who create magic on their blogs & hopefully people who are OK when you really WANTED to party, but forgiving because you've been as busy as a centipede on a hot plate, so sorry, but I ain't exactly offering the matrix of entertainment envisaged (by either of us)...

Then, EUREKA, I thought, don't get your knickers in a knot & just join in, so here I am...

Tea, the tea I don't hollar at dinnertime is the tea I have been drinking since my childhood, the tea I gagged on when the leaves floated to the top of my china cup as a babe, the tea I used to sit & sip in my great Aunties house, the one I had with my grandma when she made her butter scones, the one I still savour when I visit my mum & we finish pot, after pot over a weekend, the cup my hubby brings me in bed before my toes hit the floor because he knows I'm not a morning gal... tea... I've had it made in a billy, pot & with a bag... straight, with milk, green, black, peppermint & everything in-between... I have so often admired the Japanese tea ceremony & longed to partake in something so refined... but alas, Aussies love their tea, but they'd drink it out of a rusty can if that was all that was available...

To Celebrate the wonderful event of Vanessa's MAD TEA PARTY you can...
WIN A VOUCHER FOR ANY ONE ITEM FROM MY SHOP... and if you are one of my followers I'll also throw in (no, not the kitchen sink or free steak knives) an extra piece of art, my little 'tea party aceo shown here...

OK, here's the deal... I'm off for 2 weeks... I'll be finishing my paintings for the 'Mad Tea Party' (see previous posts) & they are going in my Etsy Shop (be posted in time for the winner to have more choice)... so, leave a comment, (it's easy, anything will do) and in 2 weeks around the 9th of July, I will randomly pick a winner - any item from my shop, whatever, one prize, winners choice...

East meets West... my morning cuppa

Now for that "cup of tea, a Bex and a good lie-down" actually maybe throw a teaspoon of scotch in with it, my 94 year old tee(tea?)totalling grandma always swore it was the best way to get a good nights sleep...

Thanks for dropping by, now go on, I bet there's a cuppa waiting at your next party stop too ;) Promise I'll track you down if your announced the winner ;)

Shelle, Happy Mad Tea Party, my friend! That's really interesting, that tea means supper or dinner in Australia! I would be so confused if I ever visit you! LOL ;o) But, I know I would love every minute of it! I also love tea and you know, I could drink it at anytime of the day, but I do mostly drink mine after 5:00pm. Two large cups! I love big cups! No dainty things for me! LOL! And, I love green tea! Please put my name into your amazing giveaway! Have a great time away! Hugs ;o)

"They kept their billy cans brewing..." that line from a Max Boyce song about the tea breaks for the council road crew- and you with your billy, too!

My drink is tea, never drink coffee. Have lots of cups all day and night no matter the weather. No sugar. Green tea sometimes with or without honey. Mostly good old black tea or orange pekoe blend tea for the main drink. Darjeeling's a favorite and soon to try white tea. Despise cold tea and never drink iced tea. Haven't tried with scotch, yet...

Have fun and thanks for the entry!

I can actually see you and the gang in front of the TV eating something yummy and colorful while trying to keep the dog from creating rug/wine art. Hm, I didn't know there were so many ways to say dinner!

Thank you for inviting me over to share your tea and enchantment! I swear by a little scotch in the tea for a good night's sleep too.. when chamomile and mint just won't cut it, lol!

Though I’m running tardy, I hope you’ll come visit my party!
