Milo says Thanks... & Now for something completely different!

First, thanks to all the caring folk who were worried about Milo the Wonderdog, he had his tail between this legs & head down when I read the comments letting him know how concerned you were, so he sends a big hug & kiss...
He looks a bit like Chewbacca at the moment, it's his winter wooly coat :)

OK, Now let's celebrate like it's... Paint Party Friday :) Eva & Kristin are the dynamic duo that continue each Friday to inflate the balloons & wave the streamers (I just turn up to eat the cake) I wanted to share my finished aceo spirits, two wandering souls who don't realised they have passed on, and they beckon to those who see, as they have a secret to share... with those brave enough to follow...
OK, slight departure, Frayz my hubby makes driftwood sculpture (CargoBoy) and he often is laden with treasures (driftwood, shells, rocks) when we beachcomb... this interestingly heavily worn & textured wooden piece that was no longer needed by the mystical mermaids tobogganing the watery cave canyons walls & so it was offered up as a canvas, which my Big F found then offered to me... it sat for a while because I wasn't sure what it was saying... then I painted, I wanted something mysterious, a story that changed depending how you looked at it...
A positive & negative, a shadow & an aura, is the darkness walking away or coming toward the light, are the two facing away like it's over, or coming towards each other to form a union... I loved the way the original wooden canvas had the word 'ash', the remains, of a soul, a love, a person? Anyway, it was different approach, the wood seemed like it was already imprinted with a story, it basically painted itself...
OK just one more, & this is the last of a major mixed bunch this week... a digital painting based on an orginal photo I took at Wooli river, done in Photoshop with layers of brushwork & filters...
Frayz was rowing our babes back across the river, we had taken a picnic to a deserted beach & collected a bounty of cowrie shells & happiness, and I did this & printed it out for Father's Day (last Sunday in Australia) it's called 'Dreamboat'. Enjoy your weekend & may all your dreams come true :)

Oooh, the driftwood painting is my favorite! It can have so many different interpretations. You did a terrific job with it, just enough to bring out what was already there.

That Ash piece is incredible - really drew me in. Love all that history from the canvas before you even began adding another story of your own painting. Clever girl :)

Argh, your grungy paintings are so cool! Love them!
The ghosts, while still being a bit creepy, come across as very kind and happy though... which probably would make them creepier if they're at another setting. XD
Anyways, love your work!

(ps, you asked about the art classes at my blog... croquis is studying and sketching a model, mostly nude, and still life is studying an item, or many and sketching/painting them ^-^)

Firstly - just how cute it Milo? He reminds me of the dog (i think he was called sprockett out of fraggle rock!) he's adorable and I'm so glad he's back home safe.

your ghostly girls are fantastic - they have an air of Tim Burton's corpse bride style about them.

the driftwood piece is incredible - I love the colours and the style - it reminds me of the sort of style a 1950s movie poster might have had - all dark and dramatic, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for your wonderful comment on my post today. I know about the palm oil - so much of the world's rain forests and natural animal habitats are being destroyed by mankind in their greed for ever more cash crops - it breaks my heart and again it is only something I became aware of the full extent of recently - the internet is a dangerous thing because you can't just learn these things and then ignore them (at least I can't!) good on you for your marathon shopping trips to find products without palm oil in. One step at a time - we can make a difference!!

Milo is the sweetest looking Wookiee ever! I love all the new art you have created. I don't think the lake would have any really neat driftwood, but I should have a look & see what is floating around!

With a face like his, you can't stay mad at him for long, Milo's adventure had a happy ending.

That driftwood piece is perfect the elements and the sizing as well as the colors; and the Dreamboat photo is striking, colorful, and powerful.

Milo, you naughty, naughty boy! How could you? Yes, you are find now, but you had us all biting our toenails! Our toenails because we ran out of fingernails! Glad you okay now, but think hard before you decide to go on adventures. Leave a note or something.

Now, that I told Milo how I feel, I LOVE this cute little ghosts. And the rest too, but I can't stop thinking about those cute creepy girls.

I LOVE your ACEO spirits and would become memorized and follow them anywhere! I just can't help myself.

Wow! That wooden canvas is stunning and so thought provoking. I love the polarity of it and the abstract meaning. Awesome!

Digital painting too? Is there anything you can't do? ;-) You are such a gifted artist. I wish I had an ounce of that talent. Hugs to you!
